Today, we are talking to Emily who joined the Crescendo Collective team as a Digital Project Manager / Producer in 2015. As a Producer Emily’s job is to manage technology development and digital media projects. Here are excerpts from our recent Crescendo Conversation…
Where were you before you joined Crescendo?
Prior to joining the Crescendo team I worked at another agency as an associate digital project manager. I wanted the opportunity to manage and be accountable for larger projects, and Crescendo presented me with that opportunity!
Why did you choose Crescendo?
Throughout the interview process I learned more about the culture and mission of the Crescendo, which I found very intriguing. I was also attracted to the idea of having the opportunity to be involved in a company where I am actually able to make a difference and step-up to lead projects. These were all elements of the job my previous employer didn’t offer me at the level I was looking for.
What is your role on the Crescendo team?
Being a Producer at Crescendo means that I take the lead and see a project through from kick-off to completion. Producers at Crescendo coordinate the activity of the design and development of projects and are accountable for tracking the progress of projects to ensure they stay on-time and on-budget.
I also work with the account team closely managing client relationships and expectations throughout a project.
What are the most enjoyable parts of your job?
My day is never the same, at Crescendo Collective we work with a variety of clients and globally recognized brands such as Johnsonville, The New York Times and Sartori Cheese to name a few. Technology is constantly evolving and there are always opportunities to continuously learn news skills and succeed as a team at Crescendo.
I also enjoy being a part of Crescendo’s Culture Committee, where I have the opportunity to organize parties, and work gatherings. Recently, we created an employee recognition program called “Crescendo Rocks” where coworkers can anonymously recognize their colleague’s achievements each day. Monthly prizes are given to those who participate in the program and it really brightens up someone’s day when they receive one.
What are some of the challenges of your job?
A successful producer should identify a problem before it becomes an emergency. The challenge is being able to see the unseen.
What are some of the perks of working at Crescendo?
Crescendo is truly a learning environment, if I have questions or am unsure on how the tackle something I have a team of intelligent coworkers ready and willing to assist.
A lot of the clients I work with are located either out of state or even out of the country. It’s exciting to have the opportunity to occasionally travel to clients for on-site meetings.
Being located in Walker’s Point means there are lots of new businesses and restaurants to check out. We get a weekly delivery of healthy snacks delivered to the office for extra brain power, have a fancy coffee maker that makes coffee shop worthy drinks and a kegerator. There are a lot of everyday perks that come with working at Crescendo Collective.
